The Production Control Module is comprised of a series of display and reporting tools that allow department managers and production teams to monitor the flow of work through the plant. The status of processes within a job are updated by labor entries through time sheets, shop floor data capture or direct keying of events into the status screens. The warehouse receiving system, with ties to inventory and purchase orders automatically updates material status. The tracking of proofs and miscellaneous time driven events in the job's progress is displayed by the status screens and the PrintStream electronic note system. |
Features include:
- All users have access to on-line, real time status of all jobs in the system. (Timeliness on labor status is dependent upon the use of the Shop floor Data Capture program.)
- Electronic notes regarding billing, production, estimating and certain user defined subjects may be created or reviewed from any workstation on the network. These notes trigger events in subsequent modules that ensure the recipient is made aware of the message.
- Due date reports can be user defined to provide the level of detail required in each department. These reports can be sorted by customer, salesperson, project manager and date range. The reports show the current status of each job along with a summary of hours completed or time still required to complete the task.
- Work in Process reporting is totally automated with the ability to view work in process totals for labor, materials and sourced work (buyouts). Estimated sales value can be shown along with the subtraction of any partial or progress billing. Postage and freight charges are also separated on many of these reports.
- A series of production summary reports show chargeable against non-chargeable costs, actual time against budget, labor productivity and rework and spoilage. These reports are available by department as well as by employee.
- Reporting of actual make ready and run time averages across pieces of equipment also supports the ability to define upper and lower control limits for statistical balancing and weighted removal of suspected data entry errors.
- Turn time reports by date range, either globally or by customer, allow analysis of on time performance in terms of delivery. They also facilitate statistical analysis of early and late shipments and average days between start and finish of a project.
