Complete
Inventory Solution
The Inventory Control Module manages four types of inventory. Paper, Raw Material,
Customer owned or Finished Goods and Postage inventory. Each type of inventory
has its own particular set of requirements for direct mail firms, and Streamline's
Inventory Control Module has been designed to capture, control and disseminate
the very information that is critical to running a successful inventory operation.
Paper
inventory is managed through a series
of customized fields specifically suited for
the identification of sheet size, basis weights,
colors, and paper supplier reordering codes.
This information, once in the system, can be
recalled and set up to integrate with the auto-reordering
and management module.
Management
of Raw Material inventory, which is
required for businesses that closely monitor
and manage the usage of items such as cartons,
ink, plates, film materials and other miscellaneous
items on the job.
The
Customer Owned & Finished Goods inventory module
manages the day-to-day management and tracking
of customer inventory and finished goods held
for distribution or re-billing. This particular
area includes a set of tools and a graphical
interface designed for tracking very large numbers
of inventory items that have dynamic-or constantly
changing-usage patterns.
Postage
inventory is controlled and managed
through tools that facilitate the replenishment,
reconciliation, auditing and accounting of meters,
permits, stamps and other postage instruments.
Elimination
of Down Time during Cycle Counts
Every direct mail company periodically conducts physical inventory counts to
validate computer information. Unfortunately, many software products require
that the inventory system not be used whilst these counts are in process With
Streamlines third generation Inventory Control software, physical counts can
be conducted without having to cutoff use of the system until the reconciliation
is complete. Instead, the system time stamps the beginning of the physical
inventory and will re-adjust any transactions between the start of the physical
inventory and the entry of the final counts.
Real
Time Monitoring
Inventory Control includes a powerful inventory monitoring screen for all inventory
that allows a user to view up to 450 items at a time with colors that indicate
status. From this view, the system will alert the user of current balances
and re-orders can be made directly. The system will cascade down through a
bill of materials and automatically present re-ordering information for all
lower level items requiring replenishment. Additionally, since Inventory Control
is tightly integrated with the other modules, work orders, purchase orders,
skid tags, carton labels, pull tickets etc. are generated immediately from
the system.
